America America

America

As soon as I came across this shop yesterday, at the Fashion Center at Pentagon City, I begun to wonder, whether something like this would work in Greece. A shop offering promotion material (t-shirts, banners, flags, mugs, anything…) for the campaigns of all candidates from all parties. Frankly, I would be skeptical on that and not just because of the combined campaign offerings but on the fact that politicians promote themselves like cartoons, or artists, or singers, or (you name what). Next think you know is girls in Greece wearing tops with Tsipras’ face on :P , others have their morning coffee with Karamanlis‘ face on and some going to the gym with a Giorgakis work-out t-shirt. I wouldn’t dare to imagine how Papariga and Karatzaferis could be used, it’s up to your imagination :P . What a scenario? Frankly, nothing would cause my surprise, at least not anymore…

I guess political campaigns in the US are more centered around candidates than parties – unlike the political gatherings in Greece. However I would not mind wearing a t-shirt of Eva Kaili (http://www.evakaili.gr/) !
